Discrimination

The first that I did when I received the notice about my pregnancy was to communicate to the Store Target Management that I was pregnant. However, I thought that the Target’s Management could treat me with care and protect me from any extremely job activities or duties that can put me on danger and risk my baby’s life. Although everything was contrary that I was expecting, and my nightmare just began. After I communicated to the Executive Team Leader-HR my pregnancy condition, Target started to reduce my work hours. In fact, during the period 01/3/2010-01/09/2010 I worked an average of 41.25 hours weekly, while for the period 05/23/2010-5/29/2010 I worked an average of 7 hours weekly.   The Company alleged that the reduction in hours was due to the Christmas seasonal sales characteristic; paradoxically, these “Christmas seasonal sales” persisted until May 2010. Whatsoever, I figured out after weeks when I worked my schedule that my pregnancy conditions really worried the Target Management.
